Tear Trough Fillers

Softening under-eye hollows and dark circles.

The tear trough — the groove that runs from the inner corner of the eye down towards the cheek — is one of the most technically demanding areas to treat with filler, and one of the most rewarding when done well. Hollowing in this area creates a shadow that produces the appearance of dark circles and a permanently tired look, regardless of how much sleep the patient has had.

Tear trough hollowing develops as the fat pad that sits beneath the lower eyelid thins and descends with age, creating an indentation between the lower eyelid and the cheek. Volume loss in the mid-face can compound the effect, deepening the transition and increasing the shadow. For many patients, addressing the tear trough produces a more significant improvement in overall appearance than any other single treatment — the eyes look brighter, more rested and more youthful.

This is a treatment that requires significant expertise and a thorough understanding of periorbital anatomy. The wrong product, placed at the wrong depth, can produce visible lumps, bluish discolouration or an unnatural appearance. At Mulberry House tear trough treatment is performed exclusively by our clinical team using products specifically selected for this delicate area.

What to expect.

Tear trough filler uses very soft, low-viscosity hyaluronic acid products that integrate naturally with the delicate tissue beneath the eye without creating visibility or lumpiness. The treatment takes around 30 minutes. A topical anaesthetic cream is applied beforehand. Some mild swelling and occasional bruising in the under-eye area is normal and typically settles within a few days. Results are visible immediately and typically last 12 to 18 months.

Treatments that may help: Tear Trough Fillers, Dermal Fillers, Skin Boosters, Polynucleotides.
